Ander (Vice President) opened the May meeting at 10:03am.

Financials are posted to the website, account balance is $14,689.76.

Kitty Wilkin is coming to town May 30 - June 1. On Friday, May 30 she is hosting a free lecture and trunk show. There are seats available on Saturday and Sunday’s classes and they are now open to the public, so get your spot booked if you are interested in either of her classes. Lynda Drendel will be hosting the next Hand Stitchers at the Buder Library on Hampton Ave. In July the group is going to test run meeting weekly; if this goes well, they will see about extending!

Hand Sew Happy Hour to be hosted by Laura Patterson at the Panera on Chippewa.

There will be a Virtual Sew on Saturday, May 24.

The Art Quilt group meeting is June 4, join the distribution list by emailing Susan Muzenski: smuszynski22@gmail.com.

There will NOT be a meeting in June so please do not come, we will not be there.

The next Block Lotto block was created by guild member Leila Gardunia! Check out the pattern here. We are excited to see all of the pies you create.

Committee Announcements

• Swap & Challenge - the Stripes! Challenge is due at the November meeting. More information can be found on the website here or in the slides.

• • Win with Judged Prizes! Yes, you can win money!

  • Tops or finished pieces will be accepted - can be quilts could also 3D item

• Congrats everyone on a great swap last month!! So many cute pincushions were shared. If you have any other ideas for swaps or challenges, please send to the board or the committee! We want your ideas.

• • July is our 15 year anniversary party!!

  • Member raffle donations were accepted at the meeting, donations will also be accepted at the Kitty Wilkin lecture (not the workshops). 

  • • Your physical tickets will be given to you at the July meeting at the welcome table at check in.

  • Bring your address labels to the July meeting to put on your tickets!

• Jackman’s Sew Day on Saturday, June 28th - 10am - 5pm

• Free to members register on the website, here

• Bring a snack to share! Do not bring anything that needs to be warmed up (please do not bring crockpots)

• Virtual sew day will be moved from June 28th to the June 21st.

• Sew Me STL

• • October 10-12, it will be held at Marriott West as it was last year.

  • We need demonstrations, only 15-30 minutes! If you have something to share and would like to host one of our demonstrations, emailChelsea Hackbart or Diane Grooms.

• Charity

• • Win free longarming for creating the charity quilts, enter the July giveaway online, here.

  • We are accepting youth size quilts! No baby quilts, please. You can create as many quilt tops as you wish to be able to enter into the giveaways each month, as long as they are finished by November.

  • Each month (July-October) is a new giveaway. Finished quilts must be turned in by the November meeting.
