2024 Board Games

One of the advantages of being on the board is being able to act on a whim. Last year, someone was complaining about the amount of scraps they had and said there should be a challenge using scraps and everyone said yeah, let's do that! In order to separate out these activities from the challenges issued by the much more organized Swaps & Challenges committee, we are referring to them as Board Games.

Announcing our first game of 2024, the board fully acknowledges that we are doing this because we feel the need to deal with our overwhelming amount of scraps.

2024 Scrap Buster Game - January 13, 2024 - July 31, 2024

2024 Row by Row Improv Sampler

Goal: Make seven of the designated block each month and sew into a row. Each block will be squared up to 8.5”. If all blocks and rows are made, finished top will measure 56”x72”. Rows can be assembled in any order.

Timeline: Sampler activity will begin in February and continue each month through October. Quilters will have until November to assemble the quilt top for prize drawing. (Quick turnaround, but should only be 8 seams at this point)

Grand Prize: TBD

Details:

Plan to make blocks larger than finished size to allow for squaring up.

Tutorials for each block will be on the website HERE.

Must post on Instagram or email guild by 11:59 PM the night before meetings.

Use #stlmqgbom24 and @stlmqg to be sure we see it

Mock up provided by Leila Gardunia.
