Throughout the year, the Guild hosts challenges and activities to spur creativity in the member's quilting journey. The ones listed are the current challenges. Past challenges can be seen here.

During the Covid pandemic in 2020 and 2021, we ran our monthly meetings virtually, not coming back in person until August 2021. Swap Fabric Placement Challenge
June 2022-November 2022
Using the fabrics you received during the guild swap or fabrics from your stash, you will create one block style three different ways by changing the placement of your chosen fabrics. Creations will be shared at the November meeting. All the details are here.
"Inspired" Fabric Swap
April-June 2022
Bring a Fat Quarter of fabric that inspires you to the April meeting. You will swap that inspiration fabric with another member after a fun ‘get to know you’ activity and mixer at the meeting. Your inspiration Fat Quarter will be returned to you at the June meeting along with three more coordinating quilt shop quality Fat Quarters selected by your swap partner. You can then choose to use those four fabrics in the challenge to be announced in June!

2022 St. Louis Modern Quilt Guild Block of the Month Sampler Quilt!
Each month for 10 months, we will introduce a block (or blocks) for you to complete in a color palette of your choice. The blocks will give you the opportunity to practice different quilting skills or techniques each month. If you complete all ten months, you will have a 60 inch throw quilt at the end of the year. The 2022 BOM has come to an end. Check out the finished quilt tops and quilts in the photo gallery below. Marie Hill won the grand prized of long-arm quilting services donated by member Dottie Vaughn. Thanks everyone for participating.
