Supply list for Improv Piecing
About 1.5 yards of a neutral fabric for the background of your blocks. I used a bunch of different greys, but it would look really good with white as well
Fat Quarter stack of pretty fabric or a Brown Grocery bag filled with your favorite scraps.
Sewing machine with quarter inch foot
Cotton thread
Fabric scissors
Small thread snips
Paper scissors
Sharp rotary cutter
Cutting mat
Rulers (6x24 and 1x12 are my favorite)
Seam ripper
Pins
A sketchbook or notebook
Pencil
$5 for class handout
*It will be helpful if you cut some fabric before class. Please bring these pieces already cut to speed class along.
28 background squares cut to 3.5 inches
12 strips of color/print fabric cut 1.5 X 22 inches
12 strips of fabric cut in 22 inches by varying widths (from 1.5 inches to 3 inches)
You will still need about 1 yard of background fabric and some scraps to work with in addition to the above cuttings.
