Meeting Notes: 

Ander (Vice President) opened the meeting at 10:01 on Saturday, February 14. 

The guild’s account balance as of 1/31/26 was $22,174.40

Announcements:

• Our Quilt Show is 3/13-3/15 - we don’t have a meeting

• QuiltCon 2027 is in Atlanta, GA!

• We will have a virtual event in May, more to come soon!

2026 BOM - Make it Modern

• While we don’t have meetings, you will be able to work on your blocks for March, April, and May!

• Bring your blocks to the next meeting to show all of us!

Quilt Show

• March 14 & 15!

• March 13 is set up.

• Turn in your quilts!

• • Quilts were able to be dropped off at our meeting.

  • Next quilt drop off is on Feb. 28 in Creve Coeur, City Place.

  • • 1 City Place Dr.

    • 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.

• Plastic bags will be available for purchase for $1.

• We will be showing 276 Quilts!

• • Jurying was kept anonymous, with the goal of displaying modern quilts. Compared to 2024, there were more medium to large size quilts submitted.

• Volunteers are still needed! Sign up here.

Swap

• Part one due on May 9th, part due on August 8th

• Make your favorite block at a minimum of 6.5” to a max of 12.5”

• Bring your block to the May meeting to display and we will pick numbers to swap the block with another member. (Make sure to add a note to the back of the block with your name and social handles.)

• The receiving member will create anything using the block - like a bag, pot holder, mini quilt, etc. No limits! Projects are due in August.

• We will have a show and share in August of everything everyone has made.

Challenge

• Mid Century Modern

• • Due Sept. 12 at our meeting.

• Example color palettes can be found here.

• To enter, you will need a quilt top (doesn’t need to be finished) or other quilted items - up to 3 entries

• There will be prizes!

We had a super cute and fun Valentine’s Day themed activity hosted by our Social Committee. :)

Elections for President and Secretaries happened! Our new President is Kristina Olsen and our new Secretaries are Allison Maestri and Jessica Elliston.

We also accepted our new Mission Statement and Code of Conduct into our bylaws.

Susan M shared information about the national chapter of the Modern Quilt Guild. She gave our guild the full rundown on how to use their resources. These slides and links to MQG resources can be found in Member Resources.
