President Octavia opened the meeting at 10 a.m. 

Financials: 12/31/25 - Account Balance of $21,787.88.  All statements from 2025 are now available in the financials page in site.

Membership is at 204 as of 1/10/26

Do we want to remain a guild under the national chapter of the National Modern Quilt Guild? Collecting answers later this meeting!

2026 BOM Make It Modern!

Quilt! Knit! Stitch!

  • Read the emails carefully and respond to show organizers by the end of January.

  • There are volunteer and paid opportunities.

  • Our guild has been offered a free both! We have the opportunity for a raffle quilt at our booth.

  • Setup 4/8-4/9

Quilt Show

  • Quilt submissions are closing on January 15!

  • Submission help desk was available immediately after meeting.

  • Collections

    • Notice of acceptance will be sent prior to the Feb. 14 meeting

    • Collection Dates:

      • Feb. 14 at guild meeting

      • Feb. 28 location in Creve Coeur - more information to come!

    • Plastic bags for quilt storage will be available for $1 each

  • Pass out the post cards! We have more if you are able to distribute more.

  • Facebook - go to our event and say you’re “going” and invite your Facebook friends! This helps get the word out on social media for us.

  • Special Demos - these are items that are not already in the show.

    • Both will be on the Volunteer Sign-Up Genius

      • Bed Turning of baby quilts on Saturday

      • Fashion Show on Sunday

    • Slots are organized by date/time

    • Scroll and select your desired slows

    • We ask that everyone signs up for at least 2 slots at a time.

        • Truck or minivan to transport materials to Greensfelder

        • Transport quilts

        • Bring stepladders

        • Bring wagons

        • Label vendor areas and quilt receiving areas

        • Assist Vendors

        • Unload and move quilts and poles to their places

        • Pin instructions to drapes

        • Hang quilts

        • Bring upright steamer

        • Put up Interior Signs

        • Hang placards with quilts

      • Saturday & Sunday

        • Place outdoor signs

        • Raffle ticket sales/volunteer check-in table

Member Announcements

Melissa Eagen is opening her own knitting/crochet/sewing studio called Blackhold Studio in Lindenwood Park. There will be sewing space for machines as well as space for knitting and crochet. Hours will be evenings and weekends for those who work. This is a space for everyone! Melissa will have business cards and more information. 

  • She is looking for small things like sewing needles and rotary cutting blades. More info on her social media pages.

The guild voted to remain a member chapter of the Modern Quilt Guild. 

During break we had several people volunteer for board positions, we will be regrouping as a board and put together the election ballots for the February meeting.
