    Beginner's Quilt Show!

    Saturday, June 29, 10 am - 4 pm

Lobby at The Quilted Fox - free admission

Celebrating our newest quilters at The Quilted Fox is pure inspiration! Join us for a one-day exhibit with more than 20 quilts.

Each quilter made the sample quilt by choosing colors, fabrics and putting their own style into it. Yes, beginners are amazing!

How did this happen? In the Beginning Machine Piecing class with Linda Grabel, a quilting expert who has taught many new quilters in the St. Louis area. Linda is known for her sense of humor, encouragement, comraderie, and inspiring the joys of quilting. Best of all, students learn quilting basics right from the start.

Be inspired by Linda's students when they make their quilty debut!

This box was left behind at the June meeting underneath a seat. Carol Taylor has it now and will bring it to the July meeting.

You all should be getting email from MQG. If not, we need to figure out why. Here is an excerpt from their latest email on getting set up on the database which is different from our database but uses the same email address as userid.

With QuiltCon Registration right around the corner, now is a good time to double-check your member roster and check in with your members.

    • Are they getting their Modern Monday emails?
      • If they are not getting the Modern Monday emails, have them contact us so we can figure out why.
    • Are they able to log into their MQG membership?
      • In order to register for QuiltCon as a member, a member MUST be able to log in to their MQG membership.

***Note that when members join your guild, and you add them to your MQG roster, they receive an email welcoming them to the MQG, letting them know that their username is their email address, and giving instructions on how to set up an initial password. It does not happen automatically! They MUST go to the MQG Login and select "Reset Password" to create their password.

In order to register for QuiltCon, they need to have the password for their MQG membership set up. Please ask your members to log into the MQG website prior to registration to verify that their username and password work. If they have any issues they can contact us at info@themodernquiltguild.com for help.

I am unable to post the whole email but Libs has a Sew Along coming up in her Sew Squad. Here's a bit from the email. --

As Spring unfolds and summer draws closer, surprises pop up - like this casual sew-along that we've decided to begin in the coming months in the SEW SQUAD.

The WE ARE THE STORM quilt is a large EPP project that I designed back in 2018. It measures around 62"x63" and is best suited to quilters who have at least tried and enjoyed EPP once or twice already. It's a big commitment project so the sew-along is really meant to get us all started and keep each other motivated. It's slow-stitching and self-paced. There's no official 'end date' but we are definitely going to kick it off on JULY 12th with a virtual meeting. Between now and then, I'll be sharing colour palette ideas, preparation info and supply lists. Once we get started I'll schedule several virtual EPP tutorials to walk you through the tricky bits.
